Terms of Service

1. About Rise
Rise is a women-only network based in the South of England. Our mission is to connect, inspire, and support women through events, resources, and a like-minded community.

By joining Rise as a member, you agree to be bound by these membership terms and conditions alongside our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, all available at risesouth.co.uk.

2. Eligibility & How to Join
Membership of Rise is currently by invitation only. You may only join if you have received a personal invitation from Rise or from an existing member.

Membership is open to women and those who identify as women. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community for all our members.

By accepting an invitation and joining Rise, you confirm that you meet our eligibility criteria. We reserve the right to decline membership applications or revoke membership where eligibility criteria are not met, or where doing so is necessary to maintain the safety and integrity of our community.

3. Membership — Free of Charge
Rise membership is currently provided free of charge. There are no subscription fees, joining fees, or other charges associated with standard membership at this time.

We reserve the right to introduce paid membership tiers or fees in the future. Should this happen, existing members will be given reasonable advance notice and will not be automatically moved to a paid tier without their consent.

4. Leaving Rise
You may leave Rise at any time by contacting us at hello@risesouth.co.uk. Your membership will be cancelled promptly and your account removed.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove any member at our discretion, particularly where we believe these terms or our community guidelines have been breached. As membership is free, no refund obligation arises from removal.

5. Member Conduct & Community Guidelines
Rise is a positive, supportive, and respectful community. As a member you agree to:
- Treat all members, staff, and event participants with courtesy and respect
- Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, bullying, or abusive behaviour
- Not share other members' personal information without their explicit consent
- Not use the Rise network, platform, or events to promote commercial interests without prior written approval from Rise
- Engage in the community in a way that is consistent with our values of inclusion, empowerment, and mutual support
- Not share your invitation link or refer others to Rise without first checking with us

We reserve the right to remove any member who we believe has breached these guidelines.

6. Events
As a member, you may have access to exclusive or discounted events. Some events are free to attend; others may be ticketed. Event details, including any costs, will be clearly stated on the booking page.

Event bookings are subject to our Website Terms of Use, including the cancellation and refund policy set out there.

Rise reserves the right to refuse entry to any event to any person whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or who poses a risk to the safety or wellbeing of other attendees.

7. Newsletter & Communications
By becoming a member, you agree to receive essential membership communications from Rise by email, such as event confirmations and important account notices.

With your consent, we may also send you our newsletter and information about events and opportunities. You can update your communication preferences at any time by contacting us at hello@risesouth.co.uk or using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails.

By becoming a member, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and materials made available to members through the Rise platform remain the intellectual property of Rise and must not be reproduced, shared, or used for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Rise shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising in connection with your membership or attendance at events.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these membership terms from time to time. Where changes are significant, we will notify members by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued membership after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
